It includes the key desktop applications, such as a word processor, spreadsheet, presentation manager, and drawing program, with a user interface and feature set similar to other office suites. Sophisticated and flexible, OpenOffice.org also works transparently with a variety of file formats, including Microsoft Office.

Specifically, OpenOffice.org is a fully-featured open-source office productivity suite available as a free download for major platforms in over 45 supported languages. For downloads, go to the OpenOffice.org site. It is compatible with competing office suites. OpenOffice.org is developed, supported, and promoted by an international community operating from the http://www.openoffice.org/ website. Beginning with the 2.0 release, OpenOffice.org stores data in the open XML file format adopted by the international standards body OASIS.

While the OpenOffice.org suite is available in a variety of languages, this CD is designed for users who work in english.

• Run floppy-based diagnostic tools from CDROM drives. More and more PCs are shipped without floppy drives these days, and it is such a royal pain when you need to run diagnostic tools on them.
• Free yourself from the slow loading speed of the floppy drive. Even if you do have a floppy drive, it is still much much faster to run your diagnostic tools from the CDROM drive, rather than wait for the tool to load from the floppy drive.
